Our Service Commitments and Customer Agreement

1. Overview

These Terms & Conditions apply to all purchases, deliveries and interactions with The Birdcage by Joshua Thomas. By placing an order through our website or in-store, you agree to these conditions.

2. Refunds and Warranty

2.1 Refund Policy

We do not offer refunds except where required under Australian Consumer Law. Refunds or store credits are not provided for:

  • Change of mind
  • Incorrect address or contact details provided by the customer
  • Neglect or improper care of floral products

2.2 Flower Care Expectations

The customer assumes responsibility for floral care upon delivery or collection. Best practices include:

  • Cutting stems at a 2cm diagonal
  • Using clean water and replacing it regularly
  • Keeping flowers out of direct sunlight and away from heat
  • Removing wilted blooms promptly

3. Order Cancellations

  • Orders may be cancelled if notice is given at least 48 hours in advance of delivery.
  • A $15 administrative fee applies to all cancellations.
  • Cancellations made after the order is in progress may not be accepted.

4. Substitution Policy

At The Birdcage, we only use the freshest seasonal flowers available to us.

Photos represent the overall style, size tier and colour palette of your arrangement, rather than an exact stem list.

If any flowers don’t meet our standards or are unavailable due to seasonality or supply, we’ll substitute them with flowers of equal or better value, while keeping the arrangement true to what you ordered. If a substitution would meaningfully change the overall look, we’ll contact you.

Vases and vessels are included only when specified on the product.

5. Card Messages

  • Please check spelling and grammar carefully.
  • Emojis are not supported.

6. Alcohol Delivery

Alcohol can only be delivered to individuals aged 18 or older. If an adult is not present:

  • The order will be returned to the store.
  • A redelivery fee will apply.
  • Alcohol will not be left unattended.
